Digital Systems Lead

Christchurch, New Zealand

The Company

Evnex, designs, builds, and installs smart EV chargers that empower people to charge using clean, affordable energy. Powered by New Zealand-built hardware and grid-connected software, they are a values-based, vertically integrated clean-tech organisation operating at a genuine growth inflection point. They have a friendly, highly cross-functional team with big ambitions, scaling fast across New Zealand and Australia. Combining the pace and momentum of an ambitious technology house with a culture that looks after its people, they offer genuine autonomy to shape our digital systems landscape as they expand.

The Role
They are seeking a Digital Systems Lead to take single accountable ownership of how Evnex's digital systems fit together. Reporting to the Head of Engineering and Operations and leading a small team of Business Analysts, this is a hands-on technical leadership role where you will hold the overarching architectural view across their full stack. From their e-commerce layer through to core CRM and ERP integrations. You will own data flow, system reliability, and the long-term systems roadmap, while driving the automation backlog against clear ROI and aligning cross-functional stakeholders through change.

What You'll Be Doing
Holding the high-level architecture across the full stack, including Webflow, Shopify, HubSpot, Business Central, Aircall, Zendesk, and their connecting integrations.

  • Designing, scoping, and personally delivering integration and migration work to keep data flowing accurately and reliably without disrupting wider business operations.
  • Developing the systems roadmap aligned to Evnex's strategic expansion across New Zealand and Australia, including leading build-versus-buy decisions on new tools.
  • Prioritising the backlog of automation and integration work, evaluating ROI to ensure effort is directed where it returns maximum value.
  • Identifying manual tasks across the organisation and orchestrating delivery between the internal team and external technical partners.
  • Leading the practical, responsible adoption of AI tools that measurably improve organizational workflows, supported by appropriate governance and transparency.

Skills And Experience We're Looking For
Strong track record in business systems management, digital operations, or senior business analysis, with a strong technical foundation and proven delivery of complex integrations and migrations in scaling environments.

  • A strong, high-level grasp of how digital systems and data connect across an organisation, from e-commerce through to CRM-to-ERP integration; hands-on HubSpot experience is strongly preferred alongside exposure to an ERP such as Business Central.
  • Equal comfort with solution architecture and hands-on execution—designing platform integration blueprints and delivering builds directly.
  • A proven track record of prioritising work by ROI and delivering automation or AI solutions that measurably improve operational efficiency.
  • Strong reporting and data-visualisation capability (Power BI, Tableau, or advanced Excel) paired with a focus on data quality, integrity, and governance.
  • Outstanding stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills, including translating complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.

This is a permanent, full-time position based in Christchurch, New Zealand. If you are looking to take single accountability for a digital systems ecosystem and drive scalable technology transformation, please apply now.

Automation Engineer

Auckland, New Zealand

QA Engineer — Automation & AI Testing | Auckland (Office-based)

The Company

This is a professional services consultancy on a deliberate journey to become a genuinely digital business — embedding technology, data and AI into the core of how it delivers, not treating them as an afterthought. The Digital Team sits at the heart of that mission, and this role sits inside it.

The Opportunity

This is a build job, not a babysitting one. The SaaS Greenfield Platform is being built from scratch, and the team needs an Automation Engineer to own the testing strategy and automation suite from the ground up — no inherited technical debt, no legacy mess to untangle. You'll be joining a tight, cross-functional team where product, engineering, data and AI work together rather than in silos, moving at pace on something that genuinely matters to the business.

What makes this role particularly interesting is the AI testing element. The platform integrates with Claude API, and building a framework to test prompt-based behaviour and AI-generated outputs is a genuinely novel engineering challenge — not a problem with a textbook answer.

The Day-to-Day

You'll own the automated test coverage across unit, integration and end-to-end layers, working primarily with Vitest and Playwright. But this isn't a role where QA shows up at the end of the sprint to validate what's already been built — you'll be embedded in refinement and sprint ceremonies, working alongside developers to make sure testability is baked in from the moment requirements are defined.

Alongside the automation suite, you'll perform manual and exploratory testing, close existing coverage gaps across the platform's database and edge functions, and flag quality risks and technical debt early and clearly. The AI testing framework will become a meaningful part of what you build and own — covering Claude API integrations, prompt evaluation and the inherently non-deterministic nature of AI outputs.

What You'll Need

  • At least 8+ years in Automation test engineering, with hands-on experience building automated test suites across unit, integration and end-to-end layers
  • Strong hands-on experience with Vitest and Playwright
  • Solid test planning and test case design skills
  • Confident with API testing and mocking
  • Comfortable with manual and exploratory testing alongside automated coverage
  • Familiar with Git/GitHub workflows
  • Experience integrating QA practices into agile or sprint-based teams

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience testing AI or LLM-powered features — prompt evaluation, output validation, handling non-determinism
  • Postgres experience, including RLS and migrations
  • CI/CD experience, particularly GitHub Actions
  • Experience shaping QA processes in a small or fast-growing team
  • Comfortable using AI coding assistants to accelerate test development

The Right Fit

Someone with a meticulous eye for edge cases and gaps others walk past, who communicates quality risks clearly and doesn't wait to be asked before acting on them. You'll be methodical when working through ambiguous failures, collaborative enough to work closely with developers throughout the sprint, and pragmatic enough to balance thoroughness with the realities of delivery pace.

On Offer

A rare chance to define and build a testing function from scratch, in a fast-moving team working on genuinely interesting problems — including one of the more novel QA challenges around right now in AI output testing. Modern, collaborative office environment with a team that values quality as a first-class concern, not a final hurdle.

If building something from the ground up in a team that takes quality seriously appeals to you, get in touch.

We are only considering candidates who are on the ground here in New Zealand. If you've read this far and you're curious to learn more or if you're intrigued and would like to throw your hat in the ring then please apply. We would love to hear from you.

Business Analyst

Auckland, New Zealand

Can you understand how systems, data and processes connect, then sit down with the people actually doing the job and make sense of how it all works in the real world?

What's in it for you

Rate: $110 per hour
Duration: 6-month contract
Availability: Immediate
Location: Auckland CBD

About the role

You'll work across a varied ecosystem of field service, asset management, service management and supporting applications. Your job is to understand how those systems interact, how data moves between them and how the technology supports the end-to-end operational process.

You're not starting from scratch. A good amount of the initial discovery and workshop activity has already been completed, giving you an existing body of work to pick up and drive forward.

From there, you'll work closely with technology leaders and operational stakeholders to develop requirements, map processes and system interactions, and produce clear documentation and SOPs.

The stakeholder piece is important. You'll need to be equally comfortable discussing systems and integrations with technical teams as you are sitting with frontline field crews, understanding how they actually complete their work and translating that into requirements the wider team can act on.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong Senior Business Analyst background across systems or technology projects
  • Proven capability across system integrations, data flows and multiple interconnected applications
  • Strong process mapping, requirements gathering and workshop facilitation skills
  • Confident producing SOPs and clear business and technical documentation
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, particularly with frontline and operational users
  • Exposure to field services, telecommunications, utilities, infrastructure or other asset-heavy environments would be advantageous

About the company

You'll be joining a large, established New Zealand organisation delivering critical technology and infrastructure services nationwide.

It's a complex operational environment where technology needs to work just as effectively for teams in the field as it does for those in the office.

You'll join an experienced technology team, with plenty of existing knowledge to draw on and the opportunity to make a tangible impact on how technology supports teams in the field.

Kofax/Tungsten Technical Analyst

Auckland, New Zealand

Kofax Support Consultant - Enterprise Automation & IDP (Contract) Automation & Intelligent Document Processing | New Zealand-wide

The Client

Our client is a well-established automation and intelligent document processing practice, working with a growing base of enterprise customers across New Zealand. Off the back of new business wins and expanding use cases with existing customers, their Kofax team needs an experienced hand to take on support delivery while the senior consultants focus on project work.

The Opportunity

This is genuinely niche, technical work — not a role for someone early in their Kofax journey. It's a great fit for a consultant who enjoys solving real configuration and integration problems for enterprise customers, and who wants contract flexibility without sacrificing challenging work.

You'll be the point person keeping existing Kofax/Tungsten solutions running smoothly for customers who rely on them day to day, while staying close enough to project work to pitch in when the senior delivery team needs an extra pair of hands.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Owning and triaging Level 1/2 support tickets for existing customers, resolving issues where possible.
  • Logging into customer environments to diagnose and adjust Kofax configurations.
  • Supporting the senior delivery team on project work — configuration, and occasional customer workshops.
  • Acting as a key point of continuity for customers relying on their Kofax/Tungsten solutions day to day.

What You'll Bring

  • Hands-on experience configuring and supporting Kofax Capture.
  • Experience with Kofax (Tungsten) Automation platforms.
  • Familiarity with Kofax cloud capture solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting instincts and comfort working directly with enterprise customer environments.
  • Prior experience in a support/ticketing environment (triage, prioritisation, customer communication) is a plus.
  • Availability for a 6-month contract engagement.

Why Apply

  • Genuinely scarce, specialist skill set — this is where the interesting, high-value work in automation consulting sits right now.
  • Work with an experienced, established delivery team on meaningful enterprise projects.
  • Contract flexibility with a strong path to extension.

How to Apply

For a confidential discussion about this role, contact Adam Roi at Walkersmith or apply with confidence via Seek. We look forward to hearing from you.

Senior Consultant

Wellington, New Zealand

Are you at your best when leading clients through complexity, aligning different perspectives, and giving them the confidence to move forward?

What's in it for you

Salary: Up to $140,000
Bonus: Performance-based bonus
Development: Dedicated annual L&D budget
Benefits: Employer-funded private medical insurance
Employment: Permanent
Location: Wellington

About the role

Step into live projects from day one and a role where your judgement carries weight. Working directly with senior stakeholders, you'll untangle complex information problems, challenge assumptions and build consensus around a response they can act on. The value lies in shaping the engagement, not simply capturing requirements.

Your influence continues through delivery. You will be working alongside specialist vendors carrying out the technical build, while you hold the design thread, keep decisions moving, and ensure the end result meets the client's needs.

Most projects sit within government and put you in the room with clients across Wellington. Over time you will lead key workstreams, grow trusted accounts, take on broader commercial responsibility and build toward senior leadership with a genuine voice in how the consultancy evolves.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong practical knowledge of the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, particularly SharePoint, OneDrive, and Purview
  • Experience shaping SharePoint site designs, information structures, taxonomies and permission models
  • Confidence leading discovery, facilitating workshops and advising senior stakeholders
  • The judgement to challenge assumptions, navigate competing views and bring structure to ambiguity
  • Clear, credible communication and the ability to turn complex information into recommendations clients can act on
  • Previous consulting experience would be strongly preferred
  • New Zealand public-sector experience would be advantageous

About the company

For more than a decade, this consultancy has built a strong reputation in information management, particularly across New Zealand government. Longstanding client relationships and a presence on several government panels provide a stable base of work and a strong future pipeline.

The boutique structure means good work gets noticed. Directors stay close to delivery, individual contributions are visible and a trusted network of long-term associates adds depth around the permanent team. A central Wellington office provides a shared base, with everyone coming together each week.

People join the consultancy, not simply a client assignment. There is genuine investment in learning, pride in the quality of the work and room to help shape how the business develops.
